Join us for an extra-informative Vision Zero Network webinar about strategies and countermeasures to address pedestrian safety via traffic-speed management in urban environments. Learn about how research backs up the creative thinking in cities across the U.S. on topics ranging from countermeasure selection to stronger collaboration between local and state staff on flexibility in roadway design, changing laws or regulations that govern speed-limit setting, and finding a balance between local safety needs and regional mobility needs.
We’ll hear from two of the report’s co-authors, Rebecca L. Sanders of Arizona State University and Sara Schooley of Toole Design, as well as practitioners from Seattle and Austin leading the way towards managing speed for safety in cities. The Vision Zero Network is happy to share important related research on safety and speed, supported by the National Cooperative Highway Research Program. Read the research here.
