Looking Back on 10 Years of Vision Zero Progress
It’s Our Anniversary!
We started Vision Zero Network 10 years ago with a seemingly simple idea – the premise that everyone deserves to be safe as they move about their everyday lives, whether they’re walking, biking, driving or riding transit. We convened a handful of early-adopter cities to chart out a U.S.-style path toward Vision Zero.
Fast-forward a decade and there are hundreds of communities and thousands of people across the nation who are publicly committing to the goal of safe mobility for all and who recognize that traffic violence is preventable. And while it’s been slower and, oftentimes, less clearly visible than we want, we are making undeniable progress, thanks to the hard work and leadership of all of you brave enough to change the status quo by lifting up the most effective strategies to prioritize safety.
